Pleased to meet you!

A graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology, I have a BFA in Applied Photography. I spent the first decade of my career in upstate New York, working with world renowned commercial photographers who demanded an exacting eye for detail and knowledge of the latest techniques in lighting. (It's where I got my photo nickname- the lighting bug!)

While these traits have remained at the core of my work, I felt a strong need to make a greater connection with my subjects, leading me to steer away from the commercial world and concentrate more on photographing people. Connecting to a subject to draw out the sweetest, softest, or most honest moment, is what motivates my work.

"A portrait is not made in the camera,

but on either side of it."
